Last Wednesday the girls finished off an undefeated dual meet season with a 60-25 win versus Northeast. Winners for Chelsea included: Amanda Dias in the 2 mile, Stephanie Simon in the hurdles, Martine Simon in the dash, Stefanie Rodrigues in the mile, Jocelyn Poste in the 600, Yarid Deras in the 1000, Masireh Ceesay in the shot put and the 4×400 relay team of Stephanie Simon, Awa Bajinka, Jocelyn Poste, and Martine Simon. This caps off a great dual meet season in the CAC’s inaugural year. Now the team looks to excel as championship season begins. This Sunday we travel to the Reggie Lewis center in Boston for the State Coaches Invitational, an elite meet that includes runners from all over the state. Next Wednesday we look have a great showing at the CAC championship meet at Lynn Tech.
The boys finished off the season with a 54-32 win over Northeast to finish second in the CAC with a 4-1 record. Winners for the boys included: an undefeated Justin Turner in the 2 mile, Alex Pedrero in the hurdles, Jazmany Reyes in the mile, Kelvin Diaz in the 300 (his first race), Jose Leclerc in the 1000, Tony Bui in the shot put, and the 4×400 team of Leclerc, Yosef Ruben, Justin Turner, and Jesus Matos. This team fought hard for every win this year and look to have a strong showing at the CAC championship next Wednesday.
