Chelsea High School Track Coach since spring of 2006, CHS Guidance Counselor since 2009 and currently the Athletic Director at CHS. I was fortunate enough to be a part of the team (with Coach Huffer) during the 5 year undefeated dual meet streak from 2008-2012 as well as Chelsea girl’s first CAC league meet championship win in 2006. In addition to coaching, I also play tackle football for the Boston Renegades. Graduate of Springfield College – 42’ Shotput 128’ Hammer Throw, 43’ Indoor Weight Throw. Graduate of Saugus High School – 31’ Shotput, 94′ Discus.

Coach Hernandez grew up in Chelsea, and attended CHS where he was a part of the track team his junior and senior year. Hernandez continued competing in sprints and jumps when he attended Centre College. Hernandez was a part of two conference championship teams at Centre, was an all-conference performer multiple times for the long jump and 4×400 relay, served as captain his junior and senior years, and graduated holding the 60 m dash record and as a part of the indoor 4×400 relay record. Outside of coaching, Hernandez is a 5th grade science teacher at the Browne Middle School in Chelsea.

Coach Matthew McCormick, most commonly confused for Ed Sheeran, is originally from Needham, MA, and is in his second year coaching sprints for the CHS Track and Field team. McCormick attended College of the Holy Cross, in which he competed in the sprints and pole vault. Aside from coaching, McCormick is a math teacher at CHS. McCormick, a cheese connoisseur, enjoys long walks on the beach alongside his yorkie Baton.

A Biology teacher at Chelsea, Fogel helps out with the distance runners for cross country and track & field. He began running track junior year of high school at Newton North, and went to run Cross Country and track at Occidental College where he ran the 5k, 8k, and 3k steeple chase.
