Girls
Girls went into meet knowing that they would be facing what would be their toughest dual meet competition this season, and it ended up being as close as expected, coming down to the 4 x 400. The team of Ana Chang, Gabby Rivas, Percy Melgar and Gloria Rodriguez, were able to beat out Lowell in the event to capture the overall team win (47-39, 3-0 record). With the numbers on the team, Chelsea had to place high in every event, which they did, winning 7/10 events, and placing second in the events they did not get first in.

Boys
The boys also had tough competition against Lowell, and although they had good performances, still came up on the short end with a score of 37-49 (2-1 record). It was a close meet up until the final two events, making the mile and 4 x 400 being the big events to swing the meet in Lowell’s favor. Despite the loss, there were many highlights including Jazmany Reyes continuing his undefested streak in an conference event winning the 2 mile and 600, Rigo Flores coming back from a long hiatus from injury to win the shotput, and Nasir Adams and Emmanuel Simon taking first and second the dash. Next week, boys and girls will face strong competition again against Greater Lawrence.
